I've had a long, weird road working on my relationship with food. And I don't think that's a unique statement for most women, particularly if you grew up in the coke skinny early 2000's. I turned a corner in my mid 20's where I was able to start looking at health and food in a different light. I have done so much research in this realm and I'm excited to show you all the resources I discover.

A few weeks ago I read an article where Gisele Bundchen spoke about how she healed her adrenals and hormones through food and conscious eating. I bought her cook book, Nourish, where she refers to each of our responsibility to break the cycle. I think this is such a beautiful was to convey that we take responsibility for our own actions. At a certain point you have to question why society pushes weight loss, fad diets, and disordered eating rather than telling us the simple truth; your body deserves nourishing whole foods. This got a little deeper than I meant for a Friday! But I'm always 100% honest with you and I couldn't explain my recent obsession without explaining how cool this book is on a deeper level.

Mango Ice Cream

It is so damn hot in Arizona right now and all I'm in the mood to eat is fruit. In the cook book Gisele writes one of her favorite tricks for mangoes or bananas; freeze them, run them through your juicer, boom you have ice cream. I made this thinking it would give me a kind of sorbet texture but I was so wrong, it's so bizarre but it makes the creamiest mango ice cream. Not going to lie, I'm stocking up on mangoes because I cannot get enough. Even my partner (who hates sorbet) was obsessed with it. Also, how cool is this juicer attachment for the kitchen aid?

So whether you try the ice cream or not I hope this article can be a little reminder to treat yourself well this weekend and nourish your body. Let me know if you do end up trying this trick! Or if you read any of Nourish because I would love to hear your thoughts on it, please reach out if you have any questions or even just want to chat.
